All Fun & Games at ConExpo-Con/Agg
There were numerous competitions taking place during ConExpo-Con/Agg in Las Vegas last week, among them was the Link-Belt rodeo basket ball challenge.
The North Americans do love a sporting competition and there were no shortage of competitors keen to get behind the sticks of the Sumitomo inspired Link-Belt 220 X4S hydraulic excavator on the company’s massive stand at ConExpo-Con/Agg 2023.
The competitors face the challenge of picking 3 basketballs balanced on top of 3 traffic cones, and then to drop them in a bucket, then returning the bucket to the start off point in the shortest time possible, its sounds easy, and to be honest picking up the balls was the easiest part, setting them down in the bucket at the end proved to be the trickiest part of the challenge, as the balls were reluctant to roll out over the bucket teeth shanks.
Shaking them out proved problematic too, as a basketball by its very nature can be rather bouncy at the best of times, and we saw many pick them up rapidly, then fail during the deposit stage of the game.
The eventual winner of the 2023 Rodeo Showdown Challenge was Kent Schewe, (Pictured below) who completed the challenge in 00:12.10 seconds.
