All New Digger Man Blog Car Hits the Road

As I’m sure many of you are aware, I recently changed my previous yellow Peugeot car early before the end of my PCP contract and after many years of driving the French manufacturers vans and cars, I have now returned to the Vauxhall brand.

All New Digger Man Blog Car Hits the Road

I looked at numerous options when looking to replace the 208, I quite fancied an Audi A3 but the dealership, essentially dismissed me because of my required monthly budget, I then looked at a Kia and that came in too expensive. So I returned to my local Peugeot dealer to discuss getting a new 208 Hybrid version in the Agueda Yellow but that was working out too pricey.

I then got talked into a very low mileage Vauxhall Corsa which under the bodyshell is exactly the same car as my previous 208, the only problem was it was in blue paintwork, which just doesn’t suit the Digger Man Blog brand.

I then came up with a crazy idea to get it wrapped in as close to JCB yellow that was on offer. Knowing that our friend Jason McCullough of MPS South West Ltd had previously had his van wrapped by the team at Tavy Signs in Tavistock, and even an entire Hidromek HMK140LC hydraulic excavator which appeared at the Royal Cornwall Show I thought it was worth a discussion.

It was Jason who initially talked about getting the whole thing sponsored and immediately offered to put up a sum of money, so I am indebted to him for planting the seed of an idea.

I then put a shoutout on my social media channels asking for sponsorship and was very quickly delighted by the response and I soon had the funds needed to get the work done.

The car went into Tavy Signs on Monday January 6th and was ready to be picked up four days later on Thursday 9th. Having never been involved in any car wrap operation my self I was amazed at the work that goes into doing a professional job like they do at Tavy Signs. Their car wrap specialist Paul has been undertaking this kind of work for over 25 years and it certainly shows in the end results.

When the car was first revealed to me when I went to pick it up, I was totally blown away with it, not only in the way it looked, but by the attention to detail in every aspect, it really is a great job, and I cannot recommend Tavy Signs enough.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who came on board as a sponsor, namely MPS South West Ltd, Holp GmbH, CB Skips, Xwatch Safety Solutions, Conagri and last but not least Tavy Signs who done the work at a very competitive rate, I appreciate you all very much.

So, if you see me about in the car, grab a photo and post it to social media tagging in the Digger Man Blog, and maybe I’ll dig out a prize or two for your efforts.
