Black Friday Specials

In celebration of Black Friday the latest American craze to hit the UK shores, we present a collection of our favourite black painted machines spotted during our travels.

Black Friday Specials
It has to be said, machines in black livery do look stunning when new, but if they are anything like my current car, they are an absolute pain to keep clean! I have had the pleasure of photographing quite a few black machines, most of which have been overseas where they do like an original colour scheme. First up during the Maskin Massan show in Stockholm earlier this year the showstopper on the Liebherr stand was this stunning Liebherr A 914 Compact Litronic wheeled excavator with Randex XD 85 trailer in customised black paintwork with Transformer themed artwork. The machine had been fully “pimped up” with a whole host of extra lights both externally and inside the cab and GPS set up from Leica Geosystems and of course, going to work in Sweden was fitted with a tiltrotator on this occasion from Rototilt. Sweden again this time and during the Maskinexpo event in 2015 the local dealers displayed this stunning “Black Edition” pimped Yanmar SV26 which was auctioned off during the 3 days of the show. It would be interesting to find out where it is now. Finland now and a visit to the Mansen Morinat show in Tampere in 2017, during a visit to Caterpillar dealer Witraktors yard we spotted this Cat 906M compact wheeled loader which more than likely started its life on the production line here in the UK at the Desford facility in Leicester. Also spotted during the Finnish event was this Liebherr A 918 Compact Litronic wheeled excavator owned by Harjanne Oy who have all their machine’s, trucks and vans painted black and very impressive they look too. Finally, a look at what is probably the most famous black machine in the UK, the 30th anniversary edition Cat 432F 2 backhoe loader that was driven 877 miles from John O’ Groats to Lands End by the original founders of the UK Plant Operators website raising money for charity along the way. Enjoy you’re Black Friday whatever you are up to or purchasing today!
