Bobcat Backhoe Loader Testimonial

We quite often see Bobcat’s backhoe loader offering at many of the international trade shows, but as yet we haven’t seen one in the UK market.

Bobcat Backhoe Loader Testimonial

My understanding is that these Bobcat backhoe loader machines have been designed for the less regulated regions, such as the Middle East and Africa, and currently only comply with EU Stage II emissions compliancy.

Launched some 4-years ago the three-model range consists of the 2-wheel steer B730 R-Series, & B730 M-Series, and the 4-wheel steer B780. On the B730 R-Series power comes from a 4-cylinder Perkins diesel engine producing 74.5kW, the same power pack is fitted in the B780, whilst the B730 M-Series has a slightly de-rated engine putting out 69kW.

With an overall operating weight of 7800kgs, the front loader bucket capacity across all three machines is 1.1m3 while the maximum digging depth is also the same at 4.6m. What I notice is that traditional cross pattern joystick levers are fitted for simplicity, although I believe a servo control option is available on request. It would cetainly be interesting to take one out for an Earthmovers Magazine test drive one of these days!

We last caught sight of one of these machines during Intermat 2024 in Paris earlier this year, but in the video below we see a testimonial from Mohammad Kamel, who is a Senior Project Manager with the General Mechanic Company, who gives us his thoughts on the B730 which has been in use with them for the past two years.
