Diggers Executive Hire Show Highlights (Part Four: SANY)
Continuing our look back at the recent Executive Hire Show in Coventry, with a visit to the SANY stand.
In what could have been referred to as the Chinese zone of the show floor space, SANY were situated just across the way from another Chinese manufacturer who we featured on the blog last week.
Whether the purists like it or not, Chinese construction equipment is making a big impact on the market, as cash savvy fleet owners look to cut costs, much in the same way we saw the Korean kit when that started arriving in the UK.
The undoubted star of the show on the SANY UK & Ireland stand was the all-new 2-tonne class SY19E electric mini excavator, which we first saw revealed during the Bauma Trade Fair in Munich last October, and was making its very first public appearance in the UK.

The zero emissions (at point of use) machine is equipped with an innovative accumulator pack that lasts for an entire working day on one battery charge. The LFP battery pack with 22 kWh is designed without cobalt, making it particularly environmentally friendly and safe to operate.
It impresses with its high-power density and long service life, plus permanent charging to 100% does not affect its longevity. Other highlights are the short charging times and flexibility: charging is possible at either a fast-charging station via DC (direct current) in 1.5 hours, at a public AC charging station in 2.5 hours, or overnight at a 220-volt socket.
Other machines on the SANY stand that we were more familiar with included the SY26U with Stage V Yanmar engine and load sensing hydraulics and the 8.8-tonne SY80U compact radius excavator.

These machines have been selling very well down in the South West where I reside, thanks to the superb efforts of dealers Truro Tractors.
Checkout our walkaround a rather hectic SANY stand.
