DMS Grabbed my Attention

The thing I love about attending the international shows, is that you never know who you are going to meet and what interesting products you are going to discover.

At Intermat a chance meeting with Sebastian Gruber led to a nice chat and an invitation to visit the DMS Technologie GmbH booth at the show. Sebastian mentioned how he follows me via the usual social media channels and was keen to find out more about my work with the Digger Man Blog.

So, I made a point of searching for their stand inside one of the halls at the Paris-Nord Villepinte exhibition centre to find out more about the company and its products.

The company which was established in 2008 is probably more well known for manufacturing its unique grab systems, which feature a double-acting plunger cylinder, offering optimal gripping space within a compact design. Uniquely the piston rod and oil channels are all inside the unit with no need for external hose pipes, and fully protected to prevent damage.

However, the big news was that the company had been awarded an Intermat 2024 Innovation Award, taking silver in the Roads, Materials Industries & Foundations category for its Excavator Blade Control (EBC) system.

With the EBC installed levelling jobs are assisted by an automated control system, with a laser receiver and dozer blade side plates for carrying more material forwards while grading. The video below certainly makes it look very efficient, check it out.

We plan to visit this manufacturer in the future for an in-depth look at what they do and to get “hands on” with the EBC system, so look out for that in a future edition of Earthmovers Magazine.
