Fiat Allis HD41 archive photos

Earlier this year regular readers may recall I posted a blog featuring the Fiat Allis HD41 which was the Italian/American companies challenger for the Cat D9 in its various guises back in the day, in response to that post I have received a couple of archive photos featuring the old classic.

As the title of the previous blog suggested the Fiat Allis HD 41 is the forgotten BIG dozer. As revealed in the post this 70 tonne tractor was declared to be the biggest dozer ever built when it was launched at the Chicago Road Show in 1963. You can revisit the blog post and check out a video of a surviving machine by clicking on the link above for more detail. One of our long term readers and contributors from Australia Gary Steen has fond memories of the HD41 and has sent in these two photos featuring examples of the machines they used to run. img_0003 Gary mentioned that he has always had a soft spot for these old dozers which were apparently well received by customers “Down Under”. This second shot gives a good idea of the size of these things with the operator stood behind the machine! img_0001, The Digger Man Blog would like to thank Gary for sending in these classic archive photos.
