Hidromek Tracked Skid Steer Spotted

I came across this machine over the weekend while surfing the web and thought it would make for an interesting blog post.

Hidromek Tracked Skid Steer Spotted

Turkish manufacturer Hidromek have offered the wheeled HMK62 SS compact skid steer backhoe loader in its range for some years now. However, images and some videos are appearing showing a new tracked version of the machine which is now designated the HMK62 T.

The new model is not yet featured on the Hidromek website, but from what I can discover, the unit which has an operating weight of 5,280kgs, uses much of the components from the wheeled variant, with power coming from a Stage 5 EU emissions compliant Kubota 4-cylinder engine, offering a maximum power output of 48.6 kW (65.2hp) @2700 rpm.

According to Hidromek, axial variable displacement pumps are motor driven and provide hydraulic flow to the drive motors. Those drive motors transmit mechanical force to the tracks using high-strength chains for each side of the machine. Infinitely variable according to the operator’s movement of the joystick controls, driving speed ranges from 0 – 7.5 km/h.

Marketed as a highly manoeuvrable, powerful and compact machine, it is ideally suited to working in close quarters urban development projects, but equally at home carrying out a whole host of different applications when fitted with its 0,35m3 capacity 4-in-1 front bucket, which if fitted with a quick coupler can quickly be changed for a wide range of attachments including forks, snow ploughs or thanks to the machines high flow hydraulic pump which puts out 60 litres per minute. road planers, sweepers and other oil hungry equipment.

Maximum dig depth is 2,764mm with dipper retracted, and 3,264mm with dipper extended, while maximum reach at ground level is 4,296mm retracted and 4,782mm at full extension.

One cannot help but notice the similarity with a well-known yellow brands offering in this size class.

Checkout this video which I would suggest features an earlier possibly prototype model the HMK62C.
