Hyundai’s Dash 9 range proving popular with owners & operators

Hyundai’s excavator range has come a long way since the Dash 3 models, one of which I ran myself back in the late 1990’s. The latest Dash 9 machines are proving very popular with operators and owners alike. In this post we will take a look at South West owner Kirk Hough’s machine with some shots that didn’t make into the recent article in Earthmovers Magazine.

Having been impressed with a Hyundai R140-9A which was out on demonstration to Champion Groundwork’s, who Kirk has worked with for some considerable time, he had no hesitation in ordering one of his own when the time came to trade in his older Caterpillar model. A great deal was arranged with Bristol based Molson’s who are the main dealers for the Korean machines and who Kirk says have been very helpful all the way through the process. The new Hyundai’s are brimming with gadgets in the cab and they certainly provide the operator with all the creature comforts one could need, in addition performance and reliability is first rate according to Kirk. As featured in the magazine Kirk has employed the services of young operator Ben Olds who at the age of just 21 is proving to be a highly skilled machine man. Ben has been delighted with his mount so far and is taking great pride in keeping the machine in top notch condition. There is a growing acceptance for the Hyundai range across the country and more recently down in the South West with a number of deals being struck, including sales to Luke Furse Earthmoving, DRS Demolition and Hatton JLD Plant Hire Ltd to name a few. Kirk’s machine has now clocked up 700 hours on the meter with no problems encountered thus far. Kirk has only one niggle with the machine and that’s the fact that there appears to be no storage space for the lower half of the front screen, apart from that it’s a brilliant piece of kit said Kirk.
