Let’sDig18 gets “Hands On” with the Quirky M415XT
During my visit to Conexpo-Con Agg in 2020 just before the world went Covid mad, I came across an unusual piece of kit which combined the benefits of a small motor grader with a front loader arm.
The machine in question is the Mauldin M415XT which is built by the Calder Brothers Corporation of South Carolina and is marketed as a maintainer, which is a pretty good description for this multi-purpose piece of kit, which can be deployed to tidy up farm tracks, stone driveways and the like.
The M415XT takes its power from a Tier 4 Final emissions compliant 3.8 litre Cummins diesel engine which offers a power output rating of 130hp.
The machine features a 10’ moldboard, a 3/4 yd front bucket and an 84” scarifier to the rear. It also features 4-wheel steering, with solid axles.
American earthmoving You Tube sensation Chris Guins aka LetsDig18, recently got to spend some time on one of these machines and in the video below you can find out what he thought about it and how he got on putting it to work.
In the video Chris talks about the simplicity of the layout inside the cab, the fact that it has front and rear universal quick-attach facility, and Hi-Flow auxiliary lines at the front and rear
