Lucas Haddock gets Up Close & Personal with the Cat 908

When your father is the uber-enthusiastic face behind Content with Media, Peter Haddock, its probably only natural that you are going follow in his footsteps, and that is precisely what 14yr old Lucas Haddock is doing, and carving out a nice niche for himself as a young presenter and interviewer.

Lucas was recently invited for an exclusive visit to Caterpillar’s Desford facility in Leicester to find out more about the new Next-Generation Cat Compact Wheeled Loader range, which includes the 906, 907, 908 and with a particular focus on the 908 High Lift model.

In the video at the end of this blog post, Lucas chats to Caterpillar’s Product Specialist Elie Abi-Karam, who points out many of the new features of the range. We also see Lucas checking out the all-new cab with its curved glass windscreen offering great visibility and seat mounted joysticks. He also got to test out the heated or cooled seat controls and adjustable air conditioning.  

Leaping out of the cab Lucas then finds out about the new filtration system and the all-important Cat C2.8 Stage V engine with upgraded drive and powertrain. This unit delivers the power for the new hydraulic system and roading speeds of up to 25mph from a 55.7kW output.

Lucas then went around the new 908 High Lift to talk about the reach and that all important improvement to operator comfort with the programmable kickouts.
