Multi-Blade takes grading beams to the next level

Scottish based Lammer Engineering are no strangers to making high quality work tools and attachments to meet specific customer’s needs, their latest product is the Multi-Blade 2.5 grading beam.

Multi-Blade takes grading beams to the next level
Well known owner/operator Ben Miller has been working with his Father who is the owner of Lammer Engineering to design a bespoke grading beam based on the popular Swedish concept but with different features to suit the UK market. IMG_9938 Regular readers will recall that Mr Miller senior designed and fabricated all the forestry guarding on Ben’s impressive new Steelwrist equipped Volvo EC140ELM and such is the quality of his work he has become the first port of call for Ben and many other customers when they are looking for something a little bit different. IMG_9939 Talking about the Multi-Blade concept Ben said, “I was looking for an attachment that had all the grading advantages of a standard grading beam but with the ability to multi task. Because we've opted for the rear Hardox "plate" instead of a roller, as well as the final grading, I'm now able to push/pull out an 8-wheeler/dumper load with ease. You can carry a good amount of material on it too for sprinkling along edges or up against walls/kerbs”. IMG_9940 Ben Continued, “It also has better material retention now when grading just by simply adding a set of "wings" on the front. Both front and rear cutting edges are made from Hardox as standard but there is also the option of having all bottom edges as Hardox. For me, the ability to use the rear plate as a spreading/carrying tool, outweighs any losses from not having a roller as everything gets rolled by a vibratory roller afterwards anyway. That said, it leaves a lovely finish and with the 2.5m width and 2m length, it's so much more efficient that grading with a bucket”. IMG_9942 It goes without saying that these tools are best suited to go under a tilt-rotator but there is no reason why it couldn’t be used under a Power-Tilt. Like everything else manufactured by Lammer Engineering, it can be made to suit individual customers requirements so different widths and specifications are not a problem, IMG_9941 Check out this video of Ben using his Multi-Blade spreading some 6F2 on one of his jobs. Anyone can make a set of three standard buckets to go with a digger but it's his previous experience in not only steel fabrication, but groundworks, agriculture and plant hire that shines through in whatever he makes. I tell him what I want and he just makes it right, first time”,
