New CASE Mini Excavators Head West

Some of the first examples of CASE’s new D Series mini excavators, are starting to land at the premises of my local dealer M & M Plant – Devon & Cornwall with the arrival of the CX60D.

Following CNH Industrial’s acquisition of Italian manufacturer Sampierana S.P.A back in 2021, the company now have access to their own range of European built mini and midi hydraulic excavators largely inspired by the Eurocomach range of machines.

Thanks to this move, CASE can now offer a range of 20 different mini excavator models from the 1-tonne CX12D up to the CX65D which also competes in the 6-tonne class. The two larger midi excavator models CX85D SR and CX90D MSR, are still based on the Sumitomo machines.

Weighing in at 5970kg, the zero tail-swing CX60D model, is powered by an ultra-clean Stage V emissions compliant 4-cylinder Kubota diesel engine offering a power output rating of 60.2hp (44.3kw) @2300rpm.

The machine features electro-hydraulic controls, fully adjustable hydraulic flow settings, and load-sensing hydraulic pumps, in addition the machine can be fitted with up to 3 auxiliary circuits for powering oil hungry attachments.

Since first seeing these machines in the metal at Hillhead, I’ve been waiting to get “hands on” with one ever since, hopefully we will get the chance soon, in the meantime I will be heading down to M & M Plant to have a browse over this one soon.
