New K-Tec Scraper Model Launched at Conexpo 2020
American equipment manufacturer K-Tec chose Conexpo 2020 to launch a number of new machines including a new version of the 1228 scraper model.
Whenever we post about these machines the topic generates some heated debate about the merits of what, in all honesty, looks to be a rather strange looking set up compared to the conventional scrapers we all know and love.
However, there are already examples at work in the UK for the Sirius Group who have nothing but praise for the unit and at Conexpo 2020 K-Tec revealed the latest version of the 1228 ADT model that will be launched into the UK market through new UK dealer SMT GB.
The new 1228 ADT has a 28 cubic yard bowl capacity and is as its model number suggests is designed to be paired with a 25 to 35 tonne articulated dumptruck chassis, in this instance a Volvo A25G model. Also fitted to this model is a new Telematics System which K-Tec suggest is the first dedicated pull-pan scraper telematics system on the market.
Our friends over at Content with Media have produced this video recorded during Conexpo 2020 featuring an interview with K-Tec product specialist Shane Kroeker to get an insight into the product from the manufacturer’s perspective and a deeper explanation of what is new on this model.
