New Next Generation Cat 325 Revealed
Came across a series of photos recently on social media showing the latest Cat Next Generation hydraulic excavator model to join the range.
Although not available in the European market just yet, the new Compact Radius Cat 325 features all the new easy-to-use technology that we have seen rolled out on the previous Next Gen models that have been launched, features such as Cat Grade with 2D, Grade Assist, Lift Assist and Payload Assist are all incorporated into the machine as standard equipment from the factory.
Tipping the scales at 22500kgs the new model is powered by Cat’s in-house C4.4 Stage V emissions compliant diesel engine which has a power output rating of 128.5kw (172.hp) and features three work modes for the operator to choose from, Eco, Smart or Power, and a one-touch low idle function and auto engine idle shutdown function. Working in conjunction with the engine the new style electro-hydraulic pump and main control valve can offer fuel savings of up to 25% according to Caterpillar.
The new cab will of course feature the familiar layout that we have seen on the earlier Next Generation models, which provides consistency across the range, enabling operators to jump from one Cat excavator to another without any difficulty in understanding the controls and the layout of buttons and switches generally.
The Digger Man Blog looks forward to getting “up close and personal” with these new models in the not too distant future.
