The Grader Man
Running a motor grader is without a doubt a highly skilled job, and one thing you notice these days, is that a more often than not, the operators you see on them are in advancing years and have spent an entire career running these machines.
One operator who recently hung up his keys for the last time is Rodney Chancey aka “The Grader Man”. Rodney has been running motor graders and as a grade foreman, in and around Texas and as far away as Florida since 1973.

In 1982 he joined Texas based Anderson Columbia Co Inc where he had remained until his retirement last year. With so many years of experience under his belt he will be sorely missed by the company, but it looks like his legacy will continue as he has spent time teaching his grandson the ropes, and he is now continuing the Chancey grader connection going forward.
Its always a pleasure to watch these machines in action with a skilled hand at the controls!
Congratulations on your well-deserved retirement Rodney.
