Volvo Days Machine Display in a Class of its Own!

I made a welcome return to Volvo Days earlier this year, and boy oh boy was it worth the six-year wait since I had last attended.

The Volvo CE team have recently produced a fantastic video featuring key elements of the machine demonstration from a whole variety of camera views and angles, and it’s a spectacular piece of work as you will see.

But first allow me to set the scene:

In traditional style, the assembled international press pack were greeted off the bus at the Volvo Customer Centre in Sweden, and applauded down the walkway to the grandstand by Volvo CE staff who were flanked on both sides of the route, as we made our way to our seats.

I have sat through many machinery demonstrations over the years including the famous Malaga Big Push on numerous occasions, but nothing could have prepared us for the high-octane hour-long performance that we were treated to in Eskilstuna, as Volvo displayed its full range of equipment, and treated us to a first glimpse of some of its newest machines in truly spectacular style.

There was hardly time to catch your breath as ADT’s, rigid dumptruck’s and wheeled loaders thundered past the grandstand, while in the background, excavators moved in harmony to a fantastically choreographed soundtrack.  

Then just when we thought we had seen it all, enter stage right, an electric rally car hurtled out from nowhere at break neck speed, performing high speed doughnuts to the delight of the crowd, a mass gathering of the machines blowing their horns with operators waving to the crowd signalled the end of a totally awesome performance.

Thanks guys & girls, it was an amazing spectacle!
