Wacker Neuson had us in a spin at Bauma
The 5,000 square -metre Wacker Neuson and Kramer stand at Bauma is always a fascinating place to visit, and while there was no big wheel dominating the area this time around, the demo arena was as impressive as ever, as the innovative Austrian/German based manufacturer displayed some of its latest products under the banner of ‘Meet the Future’.
The Wacker Neuson range of equipment is vast and very Germanic in terms of its innovation and engineering quality, I have often referred to them as a ‘sleeping giant’ in the construction machinery sector, offering great products and innovative solutions.
Three machines really stood out for me personally, the first being the latest reincarnation of the EW100 wheeled excavator. The latest 10-tonne class offering features an all-new styling that looks sleek, stylish and clearly offers improved visibility.
According to Wacker Neuson the machines powerful drive hydraulics and high basic working capacity enable it to perform tasks that would otherwise require a 14-tonne class excavator. In addition, the EW100 comes with all the preparations needed to implement future developments in attachment management or assistance systems simply by updating the software. This eliminates the need for complex conversions, which saves time and money and makes the machine fit for the future.
The machine demonstrated in the arena was fitted with the popular European TAB boom and a tiltrotator making it a very versatile and highly mobile tool carrier on the urban jobsite.
Wacker Neuson have had massive success with their DV60, 6kg payload, DV90 9kg and DV100 10kg payload, Dual View cabbed site dumpers not only in the UK, but across the world.
Following on from this success, at Bauma 2022 they revealed their smallest offering to date the 4.2kg payload DV45 model.
The machine features an electro-hydraulically rotatable cab which can now be rotated 180 degrees forwards and backwards and 90 degrees to the side at the touch of a button on the joystick. In this “Multi View” mode, the DV45 can also be driven with the cab turned sideways.
Wacker Neuson also revealed an addition to its zero-emission portfolio in the form of its all new TH412e electric compact telehandler, which follows in the footsteps of their popular conventional powered TH412 model.
The uninterrupted runtime is up to 3.1 hours with the standard battery and up to 5.2 hours with the optional battery. The telehandler features a Battery Management System (BMS) that monitors the lithium-ion battery, increases its efficiency and safety, and also eliminates deep discharge. The charging hatch at the rear of the machine is easily accessible and enables quick uncomplicated charging.

The team at Wacker Neuson were awesome and extremely welcoming and I would like to thank them for their hospitality and enthusiasm during our time on the stand.
