Award for Create Group employee
Construction and Development company Create Group, based in Blackpool, has announced that one of its young employees gained a prestigious apprentice award at Salford University's annual student ceremony at the Etihad stadium in Manchester on February 5th 2020. University of Salford graduate, Jack Hook was presented with the ‘Apprentice of the Year Ambassador Award’ at the prestigious ‘University of Salford Annual Degree Apprenticeship Awards’. The win represents the role Jack plays as a young ambassador for careers in the construction industry. He is now working as an Assistant Quantity Surveyor for Create Construction in Salford and has been commended for his hard-working attitude whilst completing his degree at the same time.
Jack, from Billinge, Merseyside, graduated with a with a BSc (Hons) in Quantity Surveying in August 2019. Create supported him during his studies, which included topics such as Commercial Management and Contract Law. By offering him a Degree Apprenticeship, Create helped Jack to gain valuable work experience by mentoring him in his chosen field during his studies. Paul Rooney, Development Manager at Create Developments has worked closely with Jack to offer him valuable advice and support. Jack's role at their Discovery Quay project (pictured below) is now giving him hands-on experience of prestigious high-volume student accommodation building projects.
Create Group’s ‘People Strategy’ aims to support and nurture young talent within the construction industry. The company is developing a widening participation in work experience and apprenticeship schemes, thus expanding and improving the quality of training and development opportunities for people to establish long-lasting and meaningful careers with the company.
