CEA partners with Personal Group

The CEA (Construction Equipment Association) is excited to announce a range of new member benefits in partnership with Personal Group. Established in 1984, Personal Group is a UK-based, AIM-listed provider of financial services, health cash plans, and employee wellbeing solutions.

This partnership is a direct result of discussion with CEA members and aims to address the challenges on skills and recruitment as highlighted in the CEA Manifesto

Addressing employee wellbeing can help reduce turnover and the need for constant recruitment and training, indirectly aiding in addressing the skills gap. Research by Oxford University showed that happy employees are 13% more productive, highlighting the ROI of investing in employee wellbeing.

Initially established to provide affordable insurance to an underrepresented market and support blue-collar workforces across the UK, Personal Group has since expanded into offering a diverse range of services.

Their flagship product, Hapi, is a mobile-first employee wellbeing, benefits, and engagement platform. It features extensive employee discount schemes with e-vouchers for groceries and luxury goods and discounts at major retailers. Personal Group’s insurance plans, whether voluntary or employer-paid, offer a simple and affordable solution for both every day and unforeseen healthcare needs. Additionally, employees can access exclusive reduced rates and discounts on consumer insurance for pets, gadgets, car and travel. These plans are accessible through Hapi and are uniquely presented face-to-face to colleagues by a team of Employee Engagement Executives.

“This partnership enhances the CEA’s range of member benefits. It will enable their members to boost their own employee benefits and wellbeing offering. Hapi puts money back into the employee’s pocket, which can mitigate some of the challenges surrounding wage demands. It supports their financial wellbeing and thereby supports their physical and mental health. With an often male-dominated workforce mental health can be an issue, leading to increased sick days and a drop in productivity. This initiative is designed to help CEA members attract, retain, and motivate a skilled workforce; a key concern highlighted in their (CEA) recent member survey on employment engagement.” said Andrew Walker, Business Development Director, Personal Group.

The survey gathered responses from CEA member companies and provided valuable insights that led to the establishment of this partnership. The key findings from the survey are as follows: 64% of respondents struggle to recruit talent, while 36% struggle to retain top talent. An unsurprising, 73% indicated that their ability to match salary trends has been affected by the cost-of-living crisis.

“The partnership between CEA and Personal Group is a strategic move to enhance employee wellbeing and engagement, which is crucial for addressing the skills gap in the sector. By offering comprehensive benefits and support through the Hapi platform, this collaboration aims to create a happier, healthier, and more productive workforce for our members. This initiative is designed to positively impact employee retention and productivity, ultimately contributing to the sector's growth and stability.” stated Viki Bell, CEA Director of Operations.

Wth an impressive client list and proven track record, Personal Group is uniquely positioned to support the CEA and its members.
