Electric Cat D6 XE joins Sirius fleet

The Sirius Group, a nationwide consulting and contracting company, has added eight new machines to its Cat fleet, including the world’s first electric drive dozer, the Cat D6 XE. The latest additions were supplied by Finning UK and Ireland.

The 22-tonne D6 XE generates the equivalent of 219hp and boasts a 35% better energy rating than conventionally powered machines and, when working alongside Sirius’ other more eco-friendly kit like a D5 dozer, and 323 and 330 excavators running on B20 biodiesel, will help to reduce Sirius Group’s fleet emissions and environmental impact. Impressively, the entire Sirius fleet meets the EU Stage 4 emission standards and includes a new 563 roller and a 308 mini-excavator.
