Euro Auctions expands into Canada
Euro Auctions have acquired Canadian auction house Jardine Auctioneers Inc as part of its global expansion, who with Michener Allen and Yoder & Frey now total eight permanent auction sites in North America.
Jardine Auctioneers Inc is a family run auction business, that operates out of a 139 acre site in Fredericton, New Brunswick, and currently offers over 100 auctions per year, primarily hosting auto, commercial vehicle and industrial construction equipment sales.
Now, the Euro Auctions Group, the world leading auction house specialising in heavy machinery sales, welcomes Jardine Auctioneers, joining Canadian auction house, Michener Allen Auctioneers, who joined the group in Oct 2023.
Michener Allen conducts 80 auctions per year across their three permanent sites in Edmonton, Calgary and Winnipeg. Michener Allen and the Jardine Auctioneers management teams already have a strong relationship, with over 20 years’ experience working on joint ventures.
The group now boasts four locations across Canada further streamlining and enhancing the services it provides to its Canadian customers. The addition of Jardine Auctioneers to Michener Allen, the Euro Auctions Group extends the groups global footprint to 14 permanent auction sites in eight countries, across four continents.
Jardine Auctioneers has been a trusted name in vehicle and industrial equipment auctions for over 25 years. The business has demonstrated steady growth and exceptional customer loyalty from private and public sector companies, maintaining many long terms relationships. Coupling a loyal seller base with its strong buyer base throughout Canada has been a winning formula. In addition to auction services, Jardine Auctioneers operates a transportation division to service customer needs in New Brunswick.
The company benefits from a skilled management team, led by Blair Sissons and long-standing employees, that have made the business what it is today. Jardine Auctioneers dedicated auction site, complete with auction rooms, workshops, and extensive space for vehicle and equipment storage, has allowed the company to facilitate the demand for live auction events making it a hub for the industry it serves.
Jardine Auctioneers was founded in 1982 by father and son auctioneers Frank and John Jardine. Today the business is managed by John Jardine and Blair Sissons, who joined the company in 2012. John and Blair will remain and will be a key part of the national management team in Canada.
Derek Keys, Founder and Managing Director of Euro Auctions Group, commented: “We are a family-run business, and the ethos and values of Jardine Auctioneers resonates strongly with our own. We see great similarities in our company culture, vision, and future trajectory. As we expand our presence in Canada, we have remained focused on treating buyers and sellers equally. We provide the highest level of service, achieving true market value in our auctions, while maintaining fair commission rates for all. This basic principle has been a cornerstone of the groups success. We are delighted to welcome the Jardine team into our auction community that share the same ethos.”
John Jardine, CEO of Jardine Auctioneers added: “This merger with Euro Auctions and joining forces with our close Canadian ally Michener Allen is the perfect fit for us all. Both Euro auctions and Michener Allen are family businesses that share our same values and commitment to excellence and I couldn’t be more excited to expanding our global customer base, attracting both buyers and sellers from around the world and introducing them to our maritime hospitality.”
