Euro Auctions: Leeds event is go!
This week is a big one for Euro Auctions, with more than 5,000 pieces of heavy plant and machinery up for grabs at the company’s enormous site in Leeds. Due to the coronavirus and lockdown restrictions, this sale will run live online. At the point of sale, each piece of mobile equipment will be shown in pre-recorded 30-second video clips to entice the online audience into bidding.
The sale will be conducted in real time by Euro Auctions’ regular team of auctioneers operating from sister company Yoder & Frey HQ in Ohio, USA. The Leeds sale programme runs from Wednesday January 27th to Saturday January 30th, the last day being a live timed auction. Find out more about the auction and register to bid at euroauctions.com.
Despite challenging conditions, last year was a successful one for Euro Auctions. At Leeds, hammer totals for the year were 7% up on 2019, with 40,717 pieces of equipment sold compared to 35,700. With most sales in 2020 conducted online, the online sales total showed an increase of 73% over the previous years ‘online’ trading.
Bidder accounts for the year also showed an unprecedented increase from 17,321 in 2019 to 31,259 in 2020, an uplift of 80% on the previous year. Not surprisingly, the number of online bidders doubled, due to circumstances, showing an increase of 128% over 2019. The growth in the first-time bidders was also notable, with first-time registrations up 133%.
Other upcoming auctions in 2021 include Dormagen, Germany (February 3rd to 4th), Kissimmee, USA (February 10th to 13th), Dromore, Northern Ireland (February 19th to 20th) and Zaragoza, Spain (March 24th).
