Liebherr TA 230 ADT revealed
Liebherr has revealed its new-generation TA 230 Litronic articulated dump truck. Developed for off-road applications, the new model features notably high ground clearance in part thanks to the relocation of the powershift transmission behind the operator’s cab. The Liebherr TA 230 also features a redesigned swivel joint with tapered roller bearing, plus front and rear axles secured by A-rods – these also contributing to the impressive ground clearance.
The TA 230 is powered by a 12-litre six-cylinder engine producing 360hp that meets Stage 5 emissions standards and is linked to an eight-speed automatic powershift transmission. With the actively controlled longitudinal differential locks, automatic traction control is also available for the TA 230 Litronic.
Liebherr’s new ADT can transport as much as 28 tonnes, and features a number of improvements for quick loading and unloading, including a trough with low sills and a straight front edge. There’s an in-built weighing system as standard, while loading lights are optional. Also on the options list is trough heating with exhaust gas management, which makes unloading easier at cooler temperatures. Even with the optional tailgate, the overall width of the TA 230 Litronic is still below 3m.
In the sound-proof cab, operators are treated to loads of space and panoramic views, says Liebherr, while a touch display with integrated rear camera also increases visibility in the rear area. Aiding operation are assistance systems such as hill start assist, speed assist and hard stop function, which activates/deactivates the end position damping of the trough lifting cylinder.
Maintenance is made easier by the TA 230’s sensor-based automatic daily check, while the electrohydraulic opening bonnet, as well as an integrated, folding ladder with non-slip steps, provide clear access to the entire engine compartment.
