McHale opens new base in Scotland

Recently appointed Metso mobile crushers distributor in the UK, McHale Plant Sales, has announced the opening of a new base in Scotland. Located at 13 West Telferton Industrial Estate on the east side of Edinburgh, the new depot will operate as a stand-alone addition to their UK headquarters on the Lichfield Road Industrial Estate in Tamworth.

Set to operate as a parts supply store and as a fully functioning UK-wide customer contact and communications centre, it will be managed day-to-day by Louise Hunter who joined McHale with an extensive knowledge of Metso products and its UK customer base. Looking ahead, the intention will be to extend its purpose by locating a machinery sales presence and an additional technical support unit at the new Edinburgh location.

The announcement comes just over six months since the appointment of McHale Plant Sales as Metso distributor in the UK came into effect. In that time, the company has established a UK headquarters on the Lichfield Road Industrial Estate in Tamworth and made personnel appointments in Area Sales, Field Service Engineers, Parts Store management, and in other customer-facing positions.

On the sales front, it reports ‘steady progress’ with a mix of jaw, impact and cone crushers having been supplied to customers in locations as widely spread as London, Cornwall, North Wales and Yorkshire.

Commenting, their Business Development Director, Darragh O’Driscoll said, “Pleased as we are with our progress from a standing-start, we will move forward aware of the challenges ahead in building our team in Tamworth and Edinburgh, primarily through appointments in technical and customer support roles. Intensifying our contacts with Metso owners throughout England, Scotland and Wales will be an additional objective,” Darragh added.
