More Bells for Lynch
L. Lynch Plant Hire is taking delivery of 15 new Bell B30E articulated dump trucks to increase its fleet, as opposed to replacing older machines. They are likely to be deployed on the A14 Cambridge to Huntingdon road improvement scheme and for the continuing work at Hinkley Point C in Somerset.
In other news, Allison Transmission has announced that B30Es are fitted with new 3400ORS transmission, part of a five-year exclusive transmission supply deal between them and Bell. Based on Allison’s 3000 Series, the transmission is equipped with the xFE (extra fuel economy) gear ratio set, designed to deliver significantly more torque converter lock-up operation and spend more time in higher ranges at lower engine speeds. This results in improved fuel economy, even though this box will allow the haulers to accelerate faster and operate at higher average speeds.
