New electric JCB compacts

JCB has launched a number of new battery-powered compact products in its new E-Tech range, together with power infrastructure modules. The big news being an electric telehandler, the Loadall 525-60E model. The 525-60E offers a maximum lift capacity of 2,500kg, with a 2,000kg load being able to be handled at the machine’s full 6m of lift height. Under the skin is a 17kW electric motor for drive, whilst a 22kW motor takes care of the hydraulics.

In August 2020, JCB launched its 500kg capacity, battery-powered HTD-5E walk-behind/ride-on tracked dumper. This has now been joined in the E-Tech range with the 1TE, a 1-tonne capacity, battery-powered site dumper (JCB's first) with articulated chassis and offering a maximum load over height of 2,392mm. The 1TE is motivated by a 7kW electric motor.

JCB has also announced that it will offer a fully glazed, heated cab on its 19C-1E, another industry first for battery-powered mini excavators. You can read more about this machine and the rest of JCB's new electric compacts in the January 2021 issue of Earthmovers Magazine - on sale Friday December 4th.
