7-Up for Takeuchi
The Japanese manufacturers are never in a rush to roll out their latest models, but the old saying “It will be worth the wait” is very true especially when it’s a long-awaited return to the 7-tonne sector for Takeuchi.
I know many of us will recall great times operating Takeuchi’s old TB175 model, these venerable machines were pretty much bullet proof when looked after in the correct fashion, I personally enjoyed many hours on one back in the day and it was always a pleasant experience.
At Bauma 2019 we witnessed Takeuchi’s return to the 7-tonne sector with the unveiling of the first of the new 3-Series generation excavators, the TB370. Tipping the scales at 7042 kgs and with a power output of 42.4kw, the machine certainly looks stylish and is packed full of new features.

I’m looking forward to getting a “hands on” look very soon. It was certainly the centre of attention on the Takeuchi stand at Bauma, so much so it was a job to get a good look at it, and I did try a few times! I did get over early one morning, as seen in the photo above, but the machine was all locked up on that occasion.
In the meantime, Takeuchi UK have produced a promotional video on the new model which you can see below.
