All roads lead to Hillhead

It’s the 1^st June which can only mean one thing, it’s nearly time for the next big plant show event on the circuit when Hillhead 2016 opens its doors for business on 28th.

Hillhead is reputed to be one of the largest quarry and mining themed exhibitions in the world and anyone who has attended previous shows down in the disused limestone quarry in Buxton will agree it’s always a top class event. Unless you are travelling overseas during the rest of the year, this will probably be your last chance to take in a plant and machinery show this year and with the event being a sell out in terms of exhibitors I’m sure you would not want to miss out!

There is always plenty to see during the live demonstrations at the Quarry Face which this year will feature a whole host of large excavators and faceshovels (40+ tonnes), hydraulic breakers, large wheel loaders (buckets of 4 cubic metres and above) and rigid and articulated dumptrucks. Leading suppliers featured will include: Volvo, Caterpillar, JCB, Bell, Doosan, Hyundai, Liebherr, Komatsu, Miller, Case, Worsley Plant, Hitachi and Terex Trucks.

But it’s not all big kit as there is always a liberal sprinkling of smaller compact machines and attachments a plenty too. Just go prepared with good footwear and a wide variety of clothing options as when it’s hot its “scorchio” (don’t forget sunscreen) and when it’s cold and wet it can be daunting!
