Zooming into a Quarry Soon

The major Chinese heavy machinery manufacturers are continuing to compete in all sectors including large hydraulic excavators.

Zoomlion’s largest offering at the moment is the ZE1250G which has an operating weight of 116000kgs and handles a standard bucket capacity of 8m³.

As we have come to expect from the Chinese machines, under the skin they are fitted with well-proven blue-chip components which in the case of the ZE1250G includes a high-power Cummins QSK23 diesel engine, which offers a power output rating of 567kw @1800rpm.

Designed for heavy-duty mining and bulk earthworks projects the machine features a slew speed of 5.2rpm and travelling speeds of 2.4 km/h (low) up to 3.4 (high).

At the time of writing, I don’t believe these machines are currently able to meet the strict EU emissions compliancy, but no doubt that day will come.

With the unique colour scheme these machines certainly stand out from the crowd, and it will be interesting to see how they stand up to the rigours of many hard hour in the quarries around the world.
