Big shear with a mighty bite

A Spanish company has just taken delivery of the first CS160RS Marilyn shear from Italian attachment specialists Trevi Benne, who have shared some photos of the impressive piece of kit with the Digger Man Blog.

The massive shear has been sold by Trevi Benne’s Spanish dealer, to Francisco Mata S.A., who operate from four facilities on the Iberian Peninsula, and has been fitted to the company’s large Liebherr R 984 excavator. The CS160RS model is the most powerful in the Trevi Benne Marilyn range and has an operating weight of 15,500kgs. Standing some 5 metres tall, it has a jaw opening of 1,100mm and offers an impressive 1,300 tonnes of cutting force at the blades! Francisco Mata S.A. are specialists in the field of metal recovery, recycling, the industrial demolition and dismantling of ships and other large metal structures, in addition to the selling of ferrous materials. The CS160RS is capable of dealing with structures of considerable thickness, which once cut up is sent to the company’s foundry for processing. Those of you like myself, with a fondness for old classic plant might like to look away now, as we see a display of its cutting power as it cuts straight through an old motor grader, which is sadly on a one way ticket for recycling! The Trevi Benne brand is well known in the UK, being represented in the market by Leeds based Northerntrack Ltd.
