Bobcat R2 Series Roll Out Continues

Compact equipment manufacturer Bobcat has launched its latest 8-tonne class offering the E88 model which has been upgraded to R2 series.

This new model which has an operating weight of 8890kgs and is powered by a 65.4 hp Bobcat diesel engine, is currently only available in the US, but we expect its Stage 5 engine variant to be arriving in the UK in the early part of next year.

Bobcat state that this machine will offer increased over-the-side lifting capacity, compared to the outgoing model, thanks in part to an integrated counterweight and additional machine weight, there have also been improvements to the undercarriage including the fitment of dual-flange track rollers, and longer track frame, resulting in more track on the ground.

The E88 R2 offers a maximum dig depth of 4.6m and a maximum reach at ground level of 7.2m. One would expect to see some nice improvements to the cab interior like I witnessed on the new E60 R2 model as featured in last Thursday’s blog post.
