Diggers Royal Cornwall Show Highlights (Part Two)
Returning back to the Royal Cornwall Showground in Wadebridge, Cornwall, to continue my tour around the construction machinery trade stands.
Long established CASE Construction Equipment dealer M&M Plant (Devon & Cornwall) Ltd are always regulars at the RCS, and this year was no different, in fact, they expanded their presence with an additional plot dedicated to one of the other brands in their portfolio Wacker Neuson.
On the dedicated CASE plot there were a number of excavators, consisting of CX130E’s and CX210E models, sporting the decals of some of the biggest players in the contracting game in the South West, including Steve Hoskin Construction (SHC), MJL Group, up and coming businesses Porteous Groundworks Ltd and CC Services Building & Groundworks.
Creating a dominant feature in the centre of the stand was a new CASE 621G XT Agri Spec wheeled loader demonstrator model, which was sporting floatation tyres and a super wide silage handling rake. This machine is now available to try on demo for agricultural contractors who might be in the market for such a machine or an upgrade.
Also of Interest on the stand was an example of CASE’s all new mini excavator range, the D-Series a result of the purchase of the Sampierana Group. The model on display was the 2.5-tonne CX25D, we are still yet to get a “hands on” experience with one of these new models, but I’m sure the day will come soon.
There are exciting times ahead for M&M Plant with a new management team on board and a new forward-thinking approach to embracing social media, I get a feeling we will be doing a lot more with them going forward.

Just a short walk across the showground and I arrived at M&M’s second dedicated to Wacker Neuson and other products in their portfolio including CFMOTO quad bikes.
I was personally delighted to see one of my former employers MJL Group investing in Wacker Neuson’s awesome Dual View cabbed dumpers, in this instance the 9-tonne class DV90 model. These machines have recently received an upgrade with a number of improvements, I was up in Stafford with the Wacker Neuson UK team trying out the new model recently and I will be reporting on that in a future edition of Earthmovers Magazine.
A wide range of Wacker Neuson mini and midi excavator models were presented including examples of their unique VDS (Vertical Digging System) machines.
I often refer to Wacker Neuson as a sleeping giant in the construction equipment and machinery sector, the product range is vast, and extremely innovative, it’s a manufacturer I like a lot, I must get out for a long-awaited visit to their facility in Linz, Austria one of these days.
