Fairfax Goes Big with the X-Series

Fairfax Plant Hire a leading player in the plant hire sector in the North of England have invested heavily in the latest JCB X-Series machines, delivered by local dealer TC Harrison.

Fairfax Plant Hire who operates from depots in Leeds and Selby, are currently running in excess of 250 hydraulic excavators from 13-tonnes upwards, in addition to excavators the company also operates over 300 JCB Loadall telescopic handlers, making it one of the largest fleets of JCB telehandlers in the UK.

At the heart of the family run business brothers Mark and Matthew Love are passionate about plant hire and thriving to meet their customers requirements by adding the latest machines and technology to the fleet.

They have most recently added 6 brand new JCB 245XR reduced tailswing hydraulic excavators to the fleet. With an operating weight of 28,009kg the machines are fitted with the latest Stage V emissions compliant JCB 448 Dieselmax engines, producing a power output rating of 129kw, and feature high and low flow proportional hydraulics. TC Harrison have supplied them with Miller GTX hydraulic quick couplers and buckets from Strickland.

The JCB 245XR continues to make friends in the industry with its powerful performance, smooth hydraulics and compact dimensions, a big bonus from an operator’s perspective is the large luxury cab which is the same size across the entire X-Series range.

From my own personal experience, I found the 245XR to be a superb machine to operate, in every aspect, and I’m sure the operators of these new machines will be equally impressed.
