Flannery goes green with massive order for Cat machines
Leading plant hire specialist Flannery Plant Hire has maintained its investment in Cat equipment supplied by Finning, by ordering two hundred and four machines in a £15 million deal. The new units will meet increased demand for environmentally friendly equipment across the construction industry, as emissions regulations tighten.
The order includes sixty Cat 312E, thirty Cat 320EL, thirty Cat 305E and five Cat 336EL Hydraulic Excavators; fifteen Cat M313D and fifteen Cat M315D Wheel Excavators; fifty Cat 308E2 mini Hydraulic Excavators and four Cat D6T LGP Track-Type Tractors. The deal also includes ten Cat 311F LRR Hydraulic Excavators, which will be the first Tier 4 compliant Hydraulic Excavators in Europe. All of the machines produce low emissions and will help Flannery Plant Hire and its customers reduce their emissions even further.
Pat Flannery, Director of Flannery Plant Hire, said: “With the construction industry growing, we have experienced a significant demand for environmentally friendly plant equipment from customers who are looking to reduce their emissions. To meet this demand we continued our investment in premium equipment, following the purchase of specialised Cat 308D SB RT Mini Excavators in 2013.”
“Our customers require the latest plant equipment at the most competitive prices, so we have to ensure that any units we purchase are cost-effective. The build quality and robustness of Cat machinery coupled with the economic performance and operator comfort gives the business a product that it can rely on in today’s challenging hire market.”
“A high number of our customers are working on projects where emission standards are essential, such as the Crossrail Project in London. These new machines will allow Flannery Plant Hire and our customers to play a bigger role in its construction.”
Adding to its 1,600 strong plant hire fleet, Flannery Plant Hire is now in a prime position to provide Cat equipment for its customers working within the London low emission zone. This significant investment made by the company represents a significant vote of confidence in Finning and the Cat range and the importance of machinery that meets European emission standards.
Matt Revell, Finning Key Account Manager, said: “Businesses across the industry are becoming more environmentally-aware and looking at ways in which they can reduce their carbon footprint as well as their costs. With the plant hire market being extremely competitive, we must ensure that any equipment we recommend can help the customer achieve this without compromising on their productivity.”
“The vast range of low emission machines we have certainly supports the flexibility of the value-based solutions we are able to offer. Once again, Flannery Plant Hire has seen the value in investing in machinery, such as the Cat 320EL, which offers fuel consumption savings of up to 22%, to help customers achieve their emissions.”
