As one member of the so called “Dream Team” of rubber duck owner/operators Ollie Kitchin certainly stole the limelight last year with his specially ordered Komatsu PW148 wheeled excavator complete with Engcon tilt-rotator which was painted in the Swedish inspired blue livery which made its first public appearance at the Hillhead mining and quarrying show and is seen below in all its glory out on site. There was certainly no tyre kicking going on, or expense spared when Ollie put in his order for this beautiful looking machine and its arsenal of attachments and its all credit to the man, who is clearly passionate about his plant, that his plans came to fruition Now this dynamic looking machine complete with a range of attachments has been shrunk into a scale model size by Gaz Evans who is the owner of Gem Attachments. Gaz has been talking to Ollie about the possibility of doing a run of these distinctive 1:50 scale models as interest in them has been amazing since the first prototype versions were uncovered. In all fairness it has to be said that Gaz has done a phenomenal job in recreating Ollie’s machine in all its glory and who wouldn’t want to own one! In addition to the rubber duck model Gaz has also produced a tracked Komatsu PC210 in Ollie’s corporate colour scheme, which who knows, maybe a sign of potential expansion of Ollie’s real life business! I think you will agree both models look stunning and would be a fantastic addition to any model collector’s collection. If these models would be of interest to you why not get in touch with Gaz by visiting his website here.
