Killdozer remembered

During the Easter break I have been looking back through the old Contract Journal blog archives and came across a number of gems which need to be posted here on our new home at Earthmovers. For example how many of our readers remember this Killdozer TV movie from 1974?

Veteran actors played the parts of an allegedly experienced construction crew clearing terrain for an oil company 200 miles off coast of Africa, that come under attack by one of their own bulldozers. Actually, the bulldozer (the mighty Cat D-9'er) has been contaminated by some kind of malevolent meteorite radiation, located in its blade evidently, which has turned the machine murderously psychotic. The star of the show was everybody’s all-time favourite dozer the mighty D9G as seen here. The film itself was all pretty naff stuff with some awful wooden acting performances but as a 13 yr old self-confessed plant freak I just loved it, of course at that time the Caterpillar D9G was the biggest dozer in production and as such has always had a legendary status for me.
