Latest Milestone for Volvo CE Haulers
As briefly touched upon last week, today we are in Sweden to witness the unveiling of the latest game-changing range of Volvo articulated haulers.
Its fair to say that Volvo Construction Equipment has become synonymous with the manufacturing of articulated haulers since 1966 when they developed the BM-Volvo 631 which very quickly gained nickname of “Gravel Charlie” a name that has affectionately stuck around to this day.
In those days it was like nothing else on the market, lacking conventional steering and instead the machine was effectively two parts joined in the middle by an articulated joint, which moved in such away to allow the driver to traverse the most difficult of surfaces.
The machine took moving decent sized amounts of material to a whole new level, with speed and agility to boot and paved the way for the many models of Volvo ADT’s that have followed ever since.
The company has gone on to deliver well in excess of 50,000 ADT’s to customers all over the world, most of which have been designed and manufactured where we are today here in the main plant in Braås, Sweden.

Today we will see the very latest machines, which will be sure to feature heavily on the Volvo stand at the upcoming Bauma Trade Fair in Munich, so an exciting day ahead, and as is often common at such events, some surprises along the way, some of which I hope to be able to share with you on the Digger Man Blog social media platforms during the day, if a good signal or Wi-Fi is available.
