Mecalac a machine in a class of its own
There is something of a buzz in the UK at the moment about the French Mecalac machines, even more so down in my neck of the woods where my friend Graham Sandercock, himself a trailblazing end user of the product, has recently been appointed as a dealer for the South West.
Keen readers of Earthmovers will recall that I featured Graham and his high speed Mecalac 6MCR in the April 2015 edition of the magazine which was the first issue to feature a fresh new look to it. Since those days Graham has amassed over 3000 hours on his first 6 tonne class machine which can only be described as a multi-faceted piece of kit combining the assets of an excavator, tracked loader and telehandler in one compact and high speed package!
Graham has now taken delivery of his second machine which is the next model up the 8 tonne class 8MCR. These machines really have to be seen to be believed, I was positively blown away when I first visited Graham on site in rural Cornwall. With the company recently taking over the Terex factory in Coventry I predict a major push on the UK market with these unique machines.
Bur don’t just take my word for it, check out this video taken on the Mecalac stand during the recent ConExpo show in Las Vegas and see for yourself.
No doubt I will be popping along to see Graham's latest mount for Earthmovers Magazine soon, definitely one to look out for!
