Poclain 75CKB set for restoration

My friend Jeremy Rowland is more well known as an aficionado on the old British Hymac brand, but as an enthusiast of all excavators, he has recently purchased a Poclain to join his 1969 Hymac 580BT.

Jeremy purchased the Poclain from a farmer in High Wycombe, who had originally purchased it to demolish some old pig pens, with that job completed the machines spent the following ten years parked up. With the machine taking up valuable space the farmer decided to sell it. He had manged to get it running and had pressure washed it down to get it looking presentable, as we might expect from an old Poclain she had developed a few leaks, mainly due to perished hydraulic pipes. Talking about his latest acquisition Jeremy said, “I had been looking for a second machine to preserve for a while now although my Hymac 580BT still takes priority and I had looked at another Poclain 75 but was not completely happy with it so I had given that one a miss, this one turned up just before Christmas and went to look at it, she is a 75CKB built in 1983 and I was happy with what I had seen so I agreed the purchase with the seller and the rest is history as they say”. “My intention is to get this machine running correctly with all leaks and other minor faults cured before attempting any re-painting and body work. I am not sure if this machine was built in France at Le Plessis Belville or their Spanish plant as somebody has previously painted over the serial number plate”. Pictured above: How Poclain's 75B looked back in the glory days of this famous French manufacturer. Jeremy is keen to hear from anyone who has information on this model both in terms of technical and cosmetic knowledge that could assist him in the restoration of this fine old machine.
