Poclain Remembered once more at Intermat
Our friend and construction equipment industry colleague Mark Gunns attended Intermat in Paris in his regular capacity as Marketing Manager for SMT (Formerly Volvo CEGB) and was delighted to include a visit to the Fondation Poclain stand, where he caught up with his old friend and former Poclain work colleague Phillipe Fritz.
Phillipe (now 74) is the president of Fondation Poclain, the society that keeps the spirit of this famous brand alive. Besides an impressive photo gallery depicting the different eras of Poclain, the society had various scale models on show as well as a TYS wheeled excavator and an FC30 complete with offset boom.
I was led to believe that the Fondation were not going to have a stand at this year’s event, but I was delighted to discover that they eventually did decide to take up some floor space in one of the halls. Although not on such a large scale as at previous Intermat shows, there was still plenty to see with historic photos and memorabilia included in the display.
Commenting on his visit Mark said, “I took the opportunity of purchasing a rather magnificent book on the story of Poclain which is very detailed and well written / translated and worth every of its 35 euros – and yes I did buy a T-shirt as well!” Fantastic stuff Mark!
Fondation Poclain is resident in Le Plessis Belleville - Poclain’s spiritual home and fans out there can visit the website which is now available in English by clicking on this link Fondation Poclain. I would like to take this opportunity to thank Mark for sharing this material with us here on the Digger Man Blog.
