Up Close and Personal with Liebherr’s 9800
Construction machinery media mogul Aaron Witt has been lucky enough to get to see a large number of Liebherr’s giant 800-tonne hydraulic excavators in person, and he recently posted a collective video documenting his experiences.
These big media outfits are certainly getting some amazing opportunities these days, and with MinExpo in Las Vegas looming on the horizon, I thought it would be a good time to take another look at what is currently the largest hydraulic excavator in the world, the Liebherr R 9800 and what better way to do it, than with one of Aaron’s epic videos.
The video starts with Buildwitt Aaron’s visit to Liebherr’s facility in Colmar, France, where these giant’s are built, a place that is just across the English channel, but as yet, I have never achieved a visit, but one day I hope to get that one ticked off.
Then we head off “Down Under” to Australia, where the majority of these giant machines are working 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Aaron visited operations with Pembroke, Thiess, National Group, MacKellar, and Bravus, visiting five different 9800’s working on three sites.
Enjoy!
