BOMAG Introduces new Stabilizer
It was certainly an eye opener during the recent BOMAG Innovation Days event, as the company revealed a number of new machines and innovations.
I will be covering the Innovation Days in more detail in an upcoming edition of Earthmovers Magazine, but as a taster I figured I would pop on this video featuring the latest stabilizer/recycler machine from the famous Boppard, Germany, based manufacturer.
Most of us automatically associate BOMAG with compaction equipment, after all its what they first started manufacturing and have become well-known for, however as I was to discover, there is a lot more to this manufacturer than meets the eye.
During a superb machine demonstration one of the most impressive pieces of kit on show was the RS 650-2. Powered by an 8-cylinder EU Stage V emissions compliant Deutz diesel engine, producing a power output of 480kW (653hp) which it enables to push a bitumen emulsion tanker of approximately 40-tonnes during the mixing process, even whilst towing a 30-tonne water tanker, safe to say it’s a bit of a beast!
