Hands-On with ALLU

During my recent trip to Finland, I was fortunate to be able to spend some time with the team at screening bucket manufacturers ALLU.

I will be covering this facility visit in more detail in an upcoming article in Earthmovers Magazine in due course, but in this blog post I wanted to share a bit about my experience running a screening bucket attached to the company’s own branded Volvo excavator.

ALLU purchased the big compact radius Volvo ECR355E model for use at exhibitions, and for demonstrations and testing of screening and crushing buckets at their assembly facility just outside of Lahti, in Finland.

The machine which with the dozer blade and when a screening bucket is nudging the 40-tonne mark, is also sporting a unique ALLU livery which is stunning.

I had not operated an ECR335E since I tried one out during Volvo Days in 2018, and had not run a screening bucket in anger as long as I can remember, so it was great to get back in the seat and to screen some material on the demonstration plot at the rear of the facility.
