HD Hyundai Going Large at Hillhead

Hillhead 2024 is now just one week away, and for HD Hyundai Construction Equipment it’s going to be its biggest event at the famous Buxton quarry ever, as they present their latest Stage V emissions compliant heavy equipment

HD Hyundai Going Large at Hillhead

The headline attractions look set to be Hyundai Construction Equipment's latest large tracked excavators, namely the HX800A L and the HX1000A L. Both machines are powered by a Perkins ultra clean diesel engine delivering a power output of 469kW (629hp) powering a three-pump hydraulic system that is designed to deliver maximum fuel efficiency.

A closed centre type main control valve ensures no hydraulic flow is used during the standby position. There are also 2 spools in the main control valve for the bucket cylinder which decreases hydraulic resistance.

A boom or swing priority function allows the operator to prioritise flow depending on the cycle. Boom regeneration not only allows for lower fuel consumption but also increased working speeds.

Both machines have 2 boom & arm options: the standard configuration being a 7.25m boom which pairs with a 2.9m arm, ideal for mass excavation applications. And a longer, 8.4m boom and 3.75m arm.

This will be the first opportunity to see these big machines in public in the UK at Hillhead, so not one to be missed!

Also making a BIG impact will be Hyundai’s new 7m3 class, HL985A which is the heaviest, and most powerful wheeled loader in the manufacturers range so far, with an operating weight of 33,800kgs.

Powered by a 6-cylinder Cummins X12 engine producing a power output of 430hp, the machine has been designed as a ‘2-pass loader’ with two buckets being able to load a 25-tonne dumptruck.

At the other end of the scale, Hyundai will present its new red dot award winning range of HX-A compact mini excavators for the first time in the UK. Examples on display will include the HX17A Z, HX19A, HX48A, HX25A Z and the HX48A Z seen below during Conexpo in Las Vegas.

Hillhead will also be the launchpad in the UK for Hyundai’s HRB range of silenced hydraulic breakers, which are available in six different sizes to suit machines ranging from 1.2-3.0-tonnes up to 18-26-tonnes.

I will personally be on the Hyundai stand Z5 (right in front of the quarry face) on Wednesday morning from 9am till 13.00, so stop by and say hello, grab a coffee, I will also be handing out vouchers for the world famous “Hyundai Pies” so lunch is on me!

I look forward to seeing you there.
