Two Liebherr’s at the Double for the Austrian Army
Two new Liebherr bulldozers have been delivered to the Austrian Ministry of National Defence.
The two Liebherr PR 726 G8 bulldozers were handed over at the Allentsteig military training area, where instruction and training on operating techniques will be held over the coming months.
These unique machines are equipped with the new Liebherr Remote Control System, which is known as LiReCon for short. The system enables the dozers to be operated remotely from a portable control room or any dedicated operations buildings.
This means the machines can be deployed by the Austrian Armed Forces to safely carry out operations during natural disasters or in high-risk zones, for instance in areas where a high number of unexploded bombs may be uncovered, without have to put an operator in a potentially life-threatening environment.
Naturally, these state-of-the-art machines are sporting military drab green paintwork, instead of the usual Liebherr yellow livery, and very smart they look too!
