Big Cat trims up rapidly
There have been many giant motor graders built over the years, who can forget the RayGo Giant, the Champion 100T and the one of a kind all time giant the Italian built ACCO. But today the largest commercially available motor grader would be Caterpillar's 24M model. The 24 model was first launched in 1996 as the 24H aimed primarily at open cast mines and large earthmoving projects. Today’s model tips the scales at 145151lbs (65840kgs) is powered by a 533hp Cat C18 Acert diesel engine and features a 24ft wide blade. A new N Series model is expected soon with an all-new engine. Internet plant and machinery sensation Pushysix aka Scott Colclough, has had a 24M working on his site for Kidco in Canada and has produced this video of the “beast” in action.
The Digger Man Blog thanks Scott "Pushysix" for the use of this video footage.
