HD Hyundai Bringing Hydrogen Back to Bauma 2025

HD Hyundai Construction Equipment has announced that it is in the running for a place among the top three nominees for Bauma 2025’s Innovation Awards, in the Climate Protection category.

So, as in the 2022 edition of Bauma, HD Hyundai CE will once again present the HW155H Hydrogen powered wheeled excavator concept machine on its stand during the Bavarian machinery fest in April next year, however, keen eyed readers will notice some subtle design changes in styling on the latest version of this concept, with a not so ‘boxy’ looking rear end and additional curves around the counterweight area.

Although it feels like this concept hydrogen powered excavator has been around for ever, HD Hyundai state that the ground-breaking machine is now moving closer to actually becoming a production reality.

The Bauma Innovation Award judging panel have recognised the machines potential to reduce traditional engine exhaust emissions and its capability to deliver a major carbon reduction on construction jobsites.

I have to say, personally I am still yet to witness this machine moving under its own power in real life, maybe this time around it will be demonstrated going through the motions at Bauma.
