Lonking March into the UK Market
The latest Chinese manufacturer to enter the lucrative UK market appears to be Lonking.
Lonking is another brand that we have seen exhibiting at the big international trade shows around the world, and now a new independent UK based company is starting to import the machines, whilst appointing regional dealers to sell them.
According to details sourced on the internet, Lonking Holding Limited was established in 1993, and was most recently situated at number 32 in the renowned KHL yellow table of global manufacturers.
The company manufactures, not just hydraulic excavators, but also wheeled loaders, road rollers, motor graders, forklifts and skid steer loaders, in addition to core components such as gearboxes, torque converters, axles and hydraulic components.
There is a growing acceptance for Chinese manufactured machines in the UK, and a lot of people I speak to talk about the financial incentives to purchase them in these tough economic times we are all facing.
One thing we always see with the Chinese built machines, is that they learn very quickly, and if things are not quite right for a specific market, then changes are made at a very fast pace. We have already seen this with the earlier established Chinese brands in the UK.
My understanding at the moment is that Lonking excavators from 1-9-tonne are currently being imported, but larger models will follow next year.
