New Kubota 8 tonner set to star at Plantworx

Kubota’s long awaited replacement for the KX080-3, the all new KX080-4, is expected to draw a lot of attention at next week’s inaugural Plantworx exhibition.

New Kubota 8 tonner set to star at Plantworx
The new Kubota KX080-4, got its official European launch last month at the Bauma trade fair in Munich. This latest model is sure to appeal to the many supporters of the Kubota brand here in the UK, who have waited for this new machine for some considerable time. I spent a brief spell in Bauma taking a look at this smart look looking new arrival. The KX080-4 is naturally more powerful than the outgoing KX080-3, but as is becoming customary, this new model is more fuel efficient than its predecessor. The machine features a stage IIIB compliant engine, and also features Kubota’s new Eco Plus system, which prioritises fuel economy. When the operator selects the standard Eco Plus Mode, the KX080-4 delivers up to 18% fuel savings compared to the previous model. In tough digging situations, the operator can opt for the Power Mode, which will deliver a 5% productivity improvement over the previous model, whilst consuming an impressive 12% less fuel. The machine is said to offer more superior digging force than any other 8 tonne class machine on the market, with a claim that it will dig faster and more efficiently, even in the toughest of conditions, a bold statement which I look forward to putting to the test when I get behind the levers, for a test drive in the coming months. The cab looks like a nice place to spend the day too, but still not much room for personal effects behind the seat, however there is a generous amount of legroom in front of the fully adjustable deluxe seat. The machine is fitted with full air conditioning, which is delivered via 5 different adjustable air vents, and is said to feature improved cooling performance thanks to a more powerful blower. I will report on this machine in more depth after my test drive, so one to look out for here on the Digger Man Blog.
